Fishing Tips For A Weekend With Family and Friends

Monday through Friday we are at a weekly job or a stay at home mother or father. We need to enjoy our family and friends on a weekend adventure in the great outdoors of recreation, like fishing without all the hard work it takes to prepare and plan for that special weekend. Since you have worked so hard all week at home or on the job and need some quality time with your family or friends.

So I Have Created This Blog Just For You!

Since you can read this blog you have one of the greatest access for information about where, when and how to be prepared and successful on your next weekend adventure with your family and friends. The question is, who to trust? Are they just trying to sell me something...great fishing at this resort, get there and no success / buy this fishing tackle and you will catch fish anytime and anywhere, buy the tackle and no success. Well, that is not me! Just true experiences that I have experienced in the past.

I am definitely not no professional when it comes to fishing, but I can surely tell you about the successful and non successful experiences that I have had in the past 42 years fishing.

Well let us get started by saying my father started taking my brother and myself fishing when I was 4 years young. He always took the time to go to our ball games and take us fishing on the weekends. When my sister came along, he also did the same for her. My father, even though working a lot during the week, took the important time out of his busy schedule and spent it with his children.

Tip # 1:  Make sure the timing is right!

Look at your calendar and know when the full moon will occur. The best fishing is 3 days before the full moon and 3 days after. Since the moon governs the tides of the oceans, it will govern all kinds of fish that dwell in those waters. Do not get me wrong, the day of the full moon is a good time also. On the weekends that there will be no full moon, prepare for the next full moon...like finding locations to fish, having the right tackle for that area (fishing licenses, fishing poles, lures, bait, fishing line, boats checked up). And in doing this the children and you will have fun also!

Tip # 2:  Make sure to use live bait!

When the moon is right for fishing, using the smaller rods and reels (children's) with small hooks, sinkers, corks (bobbers), and night crawlers and go catch some live bait (brim, shiners). Make sure to purchase some live bait buckets. You can find this live bait hanging around fallen trees, brush in the water or around the edges of the lake or pond. You and the family will have just catching the bait!

Tip # 3:  How to hook the live bait!

You will be using a larger rod and reel, hooks, sinkers and bobbers to catch larger fish. Take the larger hook and stick it under the dorsal fin of  the live bait, so the swimming action of the bait will will not change from the natural way the bait swims.

If you don not like the ideal of sticking a hook through the live bait, then follow me and we can discuss a great more ideals of success on the water with family and friends.

Remember...prepare and take time out to enjoy the great outdoors with your family and friends! You will never regret it!
